What is iERA New Zealand?
iERA New Zealand is the New Zealand team of iERA, a global dawah organisation. Our volunteers share Islam with wisdom, give out free Qur'ans, hold one-on-one Islam 101 chats, support new Muslims and train Muslims to do dawah.
Is everything really free?
Yes. The Qur'an, the Islam 101 chats, the New Muslim Support classes, mentoring, Mana Islam and our trainings are all free.
Do I have to become Muslim if I book a chat?
No. The chat is simply a conversation. Many people just want to understand what Muslims believe. There is no pressure at all.
Who will I talk to?
A trained volunteer of the same gender: a brother for brothers, a sister for sisters.
What do Muslims believe about Jesus?
Muslims love and respect Jesus (peace be upon him) as one of the greatest messengers of God, born miraculously to the Virgin Mary. Muslims do not believe he is God or the son of God. Book a chat if you would like to talk about it.
How do I become Muslim?
By believing in one God and that Muhammad (peace be upon him) is His final messenger, and saying the shahadah. See our Become Muslim page, or call 0800 ISLAM 1 and we can be with you.
I have just become Muslim. What now?
Tell us on the Become Muslim page. We will help you learn to pray, connect you with free classes and a mentor, and invite you to Mana Islam.
Can I get a Qur'an in another language?
Tell us which language on the free Qur'an form and we will do our best. You can also read the Qur'an online in many languages at quran.com.
How can I help?
Register as a volunteer and join a free dawah training. You can help at stalls, mentor new Muslims, support events or lend a skill.
Do you work outside Auckland?
Yes. We have volunteers and partners in Wellington, Dunedin, Hawke's Bay, Nelson, the South Island and across the Pacific.
